Our Story
On November 7th, 2015 Orion and his wife Lisa held the very first boot camp class at Kingwood Town Center Park. Despite all of the promotion that Orion and Lisa did a couple of weeks leading up to grand opening, no one came to class that day. Orion and Lisa still held class, even though it was just the two of them.
Orion stayed determined and continued to hold class every Saturday morning outside at the park even though it was just him most of the time and his wife showed up when they had a babysitter to join him in a workout. After a couple of months a couple of clients showed up to class. Eventually they started bringing their friends to class as well. Over the next couple of years Orion's Fitness started adding more classes to the schedule and hired a couple of instructors to help teach class.
In 2019 Orion's Fitness moved into Kid's in Action and was no longer an outdoors only boot camp. The preschool has a big open gym floor in the back of the building that Orion's Fitness leases space before and after school hours.
In 2019 Orion's Fitness started offering the Beginner Fitness class. They noticed that there really wasn't a gym or program in Kingwood that catered to those who have not exercised in a long time or ever. Orion would hear stories of how people didn't think they were in good enough shape to work out or go to the gym. He would hear stories of how people felt intimidated and insecure about themselves when they went to big box gyms. They also didn't know what to do with the weights, so they ended up on the treadmill. This broke Orion's heart and he wanted to offer an environment where anyone can come to and learn how to lift weights and not feel intimidated or insecure. Since then, it has become what we are known for and our most popular class.
We take things slow in our beginner classes and we obsess over proper form and movement. Every exercise we do in class can be progressed or regressed based upon your abilities. Our instructors at our gym keep a very close eye on everyone in class and will make individual modifications when necessary. We believe that proper form when exercising is more important than burning calories at our gym.
You’ll be surrounded with people just like you that are wanting to get back into shape. Your first class is always free to see if we are a right fit for you.
If you do want a more intense and faster paced class, we also offer boot camp in our gym for those that demonstrate proper form in class and want a faster paced workout with an emphasis on proper form and movement.
In 2019 we started teaching fitness classes at a retirement community in Kingwood, TX called Watercrest at Kingwood. We were contacted by the community to send one of our instructors to teach classes a couple of times a week to the residents. We fell in love with the senior citizens, and we realized that we wanted to provide our love and passion of fitness to more assisted living facilities in the area. We started expanding into a couple more communities in the NE Houston area and then COVID struck and paused our expansion for a couple of years. In 2022 we started our expansion again and we plan to be nationwide. To learn more about our retirement community and assisted living facility classes click here.
