Exercise and eat healthy because you love yourself, not to punish yourself. I have been guilty of exercising extra hard because I binged the day before on pizza and cake. I went into my routine telling myself I have to exercise extra hard today because of all the food I ate yesterday. I’ve even had thoughts while I was eating the food, that I need to exercise twice as hard to burn off all the calories. I was punishing myself for eating food, and that’s not a healthy mindset. Health is so much more than looking a particular way, health is holistic and involves much more than 6 pack abs.
Instead of exercising to punish yourself for eating a certain way or because you don’t like the way you look, exercise because you love yourself and you want a body that is strong and capable for everyday life. If you focus on getting healthy instead of beating yourself up, you will have far greater results that are sustainable and last a lifetime.
